Caroling, Caroling

Holiday Magic #1

Don we now our gay apparel,
Fa la la, la la la, la la la.
Troll the ancient Yuletide carol,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Joyful souls donned in gay apparel troll the ancient
Yuletide carol in Denver's festive Larimer Square.

I've been busily preparing for the Holidays here at home but thought I should bring a little Holiday Spirit to my little corner of cyberspace as well. This was taken several years ago when my daughter was little. She was enthralled with the carolers but too shy to join them in song. Ah, those were the days. . .

Hi Lisa!

Seasons greetings to you and yours!

This is a great photo - I could hear them as soon as the picture opened up on my monitor! I am not always the biggest fan of Christmas (though I wouldn't call myself a Scrooge either) but carolers make me happy! They remind me of everything that I really *love* about the holiday season.

Carolers always remind me of Dickens - it's probably the clothing! Even though a lot of the "modern conveniences" were missing back then, I'm pretty sure I would have liked it back in Dickens' time - a simpler time with simpler things to make you happy like carolers and figgy pudding and a warm fire. Oh, and let's not forget the long dresses with hoops to hide my fat hips!!

Happy Holidays!

And here I was wondering if it was you in that cute bonnet. :p A very sweet memory. Thanks for sharing it! :)

Thanks Bobbie! I'm hoping if I get enough done this week I'll actually be able to relax and enjoy the festivities most of next week. :)

Hi Penny! Season's Greetings to you, too! Glad you liked the photo. I'm not a huge fan of the whole Holiday Season either--it's just "too much" as far as I'm concerned--but Carolers--and the music in general--are one of the things I really enjoy about it. That and the lights and the baked goods. :)

Happy HolidaysLinda! There is something to be said for a simpler Dickens style Christmas, that's for sure. It's such a long, drawn out thing these days. . . I like the idea of those long hoop skirts, too! LOL!

LOL, Cherie! If I had the dress and the bonnet, I'd wear it! My figure (or lack thereof) would disappear altogether behind that hoop skirt and cape. ;)
