Mountains Still on Fire

Mountain Living #6

The Fourmile Canyon Fire has been downsized today but containment still remains at 0%. Of the 93 structures that burned, 50+ were homes. (Update: 159 homes have been lost in this fire.)

It looks like rain here today. I hope it falls soon, and in great amounts. . .

Stuart O'Steen captured some frightening video of the blaze at night.

I hope you all get some rain out there & can get the fire contained. My family lives in the foothills of So Cal & know the perils of backcountry fires.

Thanks Becky. We did get a very little bit of rain yesterday but more importantly the winds were not as strong as anticipated. I had meant to post an update today but time got away from me. And yes, the foothills of southern California have seen more than their fair share of wildfires, that's for sure. A fire anywhere in our foothills puts everyone here on edge. . . Very disturbing to hear of the fires in Detroit and San Francisco too. :(
