Autumn Foliage

Autumn Splendor #3

"Delicious autumn!  My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns."

I have to totally agree with George Eliot on that one! Autumn is my very favorite season but alas, it just doesn't last long enough for my liking.

I love how part of that leaf is still green and shows the contrast of colors - very nice!

Thanks, Dianne and Linda! I love working with what Eliot Porter called "intimate landscapes"; the thousands of smaller scenes you come across in nature.

And, Linda, I agree with you 100% that autumn does not last long enough. We're lucky if we get two weeks of it, though last year it lasted an entire month--it was glorious. :)

This is a very interesting photo. I love how the coloring in the rock makes the red leaves stand out more. Lisa

Thanks, Cherie!

And thanks to you, too, Penny! I know I have a lot to catch up on with your blog and will try to do so as soon as I get a free moment. As I've said before, life is just so daily. :)
